Hi Chris

As far as I know, the heights is being built behind Golf/Suites, so your view will be of those developments or towards the road in the distance. You might have a better view of the mountain actually seeing as you are further away from White Fir.

Hope this helps

Jaymac....

Ive just had a long telephone conversation with Monica from MRI Construction. She says they expect to start building within 10days and still hope to have it finished on schedule ie about the end of March 2008.

I have to say that I found Monica very helpful and she answered all the queries that I had Smile

I feel a lot happier about the whole thing now than maybe I did before I spoke to her. Very Happy

Cheers

John

Tough luck Chris!

I coughed up quite a while ago. It must take them a while to get round everyone.

Cheers

I too have not joined the After Sales however my partner spoke too MRI last weekend and was told they are up to the third floor now and all is going well.

We have resisted the pressure selling of the furniture pack. 4k for each studio?! for us thats 8k, f**king ridiculous. However we will no doubt relent as we haven't seen an easy alternative yet.

Its good to know they are getting on. We have not yet gone for furniture pack. apart from price seeming high, them apparantly trying to sell some kitchen type items that are included in the studio price,we did not fancy paying up front in full for something we may not get for a year(depending on completion times)

There are a lot of alternative furniture pack suppliers, you can find them by doing a search on the talk Bansko forum.

My wife wants to go across and just buy the stuff locally or go to Ikea. I dont know if that is very practical or not. We will probably leave it till next year before we decide what to do.

Presume you have got two studios, so have we! Just hope we can fill them!!

Hi

I am a member of the aftersales and if you want to pm me with your email address then I could probably copy the progress pictures to you as I can't work out how to put them on the forum yet.

Spangle - Great stuff, i'll PM you. Much appricated

About furniture packs, one of the sales pitches was that MRI wouldn't rent it if you didn't buy their furniture pack, personally i'm not convinced this is true. Has anyone else heard this?

4k per studio seems steep. It maybe an idea to get a few people who are considering an alterative packs at aspen heights together and go through the options, there maybe even be discounts for getting a few apartments done at once.

I think the spin on the furniture packs is that if you buy your own one seperately, you need to go through a process of getting them certified for use by package holiday operators. Personally I bought it off MRI, mostly so I don't have the hassle of going over to get and install everything.
To be honest, any other comparable furniture packs I looked up were around the same price anyway.
I saw the photo's too on the aftersales site, and the progress looks good so far, the buildings are taking shape nicely!

I have also purchased my furniture packs from MRI, they can do it all for me as I don't have time to do it myself...........with regards to rentals, UK tour operators have to make sure that accommodation they advertise conforms to UK regulations. MRI furniture packs I presume do, so, if you purchase else where you have to obtain a safty certificate before they will rent your property out. MRI will get your apartment checked for you at a cost of around 2000 euros!

I think it is a good thing the checks are in place - just remember those 2 children who died in Greece from carbon monoxide poisoning a few years ago.
